Holiday Outfit Inspiration: Red Ruffle Sleeve Coat

This is likely my favourite outfit post on the blog this year. I love, love, love this red coat. I picked it up on a whim, but I'm so glad I did. The colour? Incredible. The sleeves?! So chic - and overall the coat is actually warm. An all-black ensemble underneath really lets the coat shine, while the plaid scarf gives the outfit a festive feel. I also love a pair of fun earrings with my hair up to show them off. I can't wait to wear this outfit to an upcoming soiree - I'm obsessed!

Gift Guide: Monogrammed Gift Ideas

I'm kicking off my Holiday gift guides with my favourite category - monogrammed gifts! I love the idea of a personalized gift because they are more personal. Due to the nature of monogrammed items - it's always a great idea to get a head start on ordering them, so they are received in time for Christmas. Some monogram shops do take a few weeks to prepare the item, plus shipping time must be added to that as well.

Just about anything can be monogrammed these days, but I personally love functional items like a fun keychain, weekender bag, or a cozy sweater. I know how much I would appreciate these types of items so I personally love giving them to friends and family. I rounded up my favourite monogrammed gift items to get you started on your Christmas shopping!

Sephora is one of my favourite places to go - even though I am terrible with makeup! I love looking around at all of the products and trying something new. Over time I've found my holy grail products and fun special occasion products leading me to achieve the VIB (Very Important Beauty Insider) status of the rewards program! This weekend all VIB status members can get 20% off of their purchases. Regular Beauty Insiders can receive 10% and VIB Rouge (the ultimate grand supreme level of the rewards program) can receive 25% off. I'm rounding up my all-time favourite Sephora products, some of which I'll definitely pick up during the sale!

Holiday Dresses under $150!

It's November which means Holiday party invitations are starting to roll in. Between Christmas and New Years Eve, a festive dress is a necessity in any closet. Today, I'm rounding up my favourite dresses for the season at various price points - with all coming in under $150. Many of the stores featured (like Old Navy and Nordstrom) are also having sales - so you may be able to save a little money (and buy a few more dresses)!

An Easy Banana Bread Recipe

Is it just me, or is Holiday baking more exciting than everyday baking? I get so excited making my favourite baked goods for friends and coworkers during the most wonderful time of the year! I have a handful of favourite recipes which always make an appearance around this time, but the most cherished recipe in my book is my banana bread recipe!

Banana bread is my go-to baked good for potlucks and gifting because I almost always have the ingredients on hand and it's not super complicated to pull off. You could also slice the cooled bread and wrap it with kraft paper and ribbon as a parting gift.

The (super easy) recipe:
WHISK 4 mashed bananas in with 6 TBSP of melted butter, 1/2 CUP of white sugar and 1/2 CUP of brown sugar. Whisk in one egg and 1 TSP of vanilla extract.
SIFT 1 1/2 CUPS of all-purpose flour in with 1 TSP baking soda and 1/4 TSP salt.
ADD the dry mixture to the banana mixture until combined. Add 1 CUP of chocolate chips.
POUR into prepared loaf tin and BAKE for 75 minutes.

It's a good idea to check the banana bread after about 45 minutes in the oven. Mine usually takes the full 75 minutes to bake because I add bananas on top as garnish. After 20 minutes of cooling, remove the bread from the loaf pan and slice with a bread kinfe!

This banana bread didn't last very long, so I'll definitely be making more soon!
