A Casual Fall Outfit

There is nothing I love more than a casual outfit. Dressing up here and there is fun, but nothing beats the simplicity and comfort of a well put together casual look. Though it has been unseasonably warm lately, I know once it cools down I'll be reaching for jeans and chic sweaters like this bell sleeved one. I love how the sleeves make an otherwise basic sweater a little more fun and suitable for both jeans or a dressier pant. I'm tempted to buy the other colours as I type this!

Life Lately

I was going through my phone the other day and I realized how many fun things I have been up to lately! A lot of the time I don't take out my camera when I'm out, so I end up with a lot of iPhone pictures that don't really make it to the blog. Today, I'm going to share a few so you can see what I've been up to!

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend a brush lettering workshop. There are a lot of brush lettering time lapses on Instagram and I thought it would be interesting to try it out for myself. The event was hosted by Embiria and the workshop itself was taught by Sylvia from Via Calligraphy. Sylvia's story on how she got started with calligraphy and brush lettering is really cool and you can learn all about it here (definitely worth watching)!

I have been practicing my lettering technique a lot and hopefully one day I master it.

Last Monday, I went to Oh Wonder's first of three concerts in Toronto. I've loved Oh Wonder for a while and I was determined to see them live after missing my chance last year. Their song 'Drive' is my all time favourite song and was my #1 played song on Spotify last year. Their music is so fun and happy! I highly recommend all of their music.

I was featured on Wayfair! This is probably the most exciting thing that has happened on the blog in a while. I always sing along to the Wayfair commercial on TV so when they reached out to me after I made my Dorm Room Decor post - I was so excited to do a mini interview about styling your dorm room. There are a lot of great tips in the post, check it out!

Fall Bucket List

Today is the first day of Fall and I'm so excited! Fall is one of my favourite seasons (Summer will always be my #1) because we still have warm days but the air is crisp and there are far fewer bugs.

There is also something so wonderful about watching the leaves change from green to beautiful reds and oranges and shopping for all things cozy. Apples and pumpkins are in season, plus Thanksgiving and Halloween are just around the corner. I'm sure you can agree that for all these reasons, Fall is the best!

I'm so excited for the fall activities ahead, and here are some of the things I am looking forward to!

What activities are on your Fall bucket list?

White After Labour Day

Some people might think wearing all white is risky, but I'm not one of those people. It's well after Labour Day and I'm simply not ready to retire my treasured white jeans. We've also been experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures - which is even more of a reason to continue wearing white.

I was snooping around my local Aerie store, and I was super impressed by the clothing selection. For some reason, I thought Aerie only sold lingerie, but they actually have super cute loungewear and pieces (like my sweater) that I would actually wear out! I picked up the lace up back sweater just to try on, but I ended up loving it so much that I bought it. I love the detail on the back of my sweater. It definitely adds something interesting to an otherwise basic piece and I know I'll be able to style it in other ways! The sweater is also very light, despite looking super thick. It's actually a tad bit sheer on top of the semi-open back; which would be great on for those days where it's chilly in the morning but super hot by lunchtime.

A New Playlist

I just took a whole weekend off from everything and it was so great. I had a lot on my plate and I was so glad to have time to chip away at tasks that have been on my to-do list forever. My biggest task was switching over to my Fall/Winter closet. I have quite a bit of clothes and not much space to store them. I rely on vacuum sealed storage bags and thin hangers to set up my closet.

Once I have all of my tools ready, I have to get some good music going. I can't work in silence! I love Spotify because there are always great song suggestions in the 'Discover Weekly' section and the 'Radio' section. There are so many great artists featured in these sections that I wouldn't know about had it not been for Spotify. My only complaint is I often lose focus on my task because I want to stop and save the songs for later!

Here is a playlist of songs I've been loving lately!
