What's In My Makeup Bag

I am always curious to know what other people have in their makeup bags. It's a bizarre obsession, but I just love knowing what beauty products my friends and favourite influencers are using and love. It inspires me to test out new products and add them to my makeup routine.

I am far from an expert when it comes to makeup. I know my way around very basic products and tools, then find a way to make it look presentable. I have definitely stepped out in blush that is too bright, or eyeshadow that is not blended properly - so I would classify myself as a novice. What I love about the products I'm sharing today is how easy they are to use and how quick I can put a look together with them.

Primer: Benefit - The Porefessional
I usually start with this primer after I've let my moisturizer settle for a bit. It gives me a smooth canvas to work with and isn't too drying like other primers I've tried.

Foundation: Bobbi Brown - Cool Walnut
I was browsing a newly opened Holt Renfrew a while ago, when a Bobbi Brown associate approached me and asked me if I wanted to have my makeup done. I couldn't turn that offer down and she ended giving me a mini makeup lesson! She colour matched my skin to this colour foundation and mentioned the stick formula was perfect for people with dry skin.

I absolutely love this foundation! It's so creamy, easy to blend and is a perfect match for my skin tone. It is not easy finding a foundation to match my skin colour, as most dark colours have a warm yellow undertone but I am a cool blue undertone. Bobbi Brown makes her darker shades in cool and warm, so you likely will find a colour match with this brand!

Brows: Benefit - Precisely, My Brow Pencil in Black
My eyebrows are pretty full already, so I don't use a lot of this. I love that it has a spooly on the end for combing through your brows before applying the pencil!

Eyeliner: Ecriteure de Chanel in Noir
This is a pretty expensive eyeliner, and I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives, but I love this stuff! Other liquid eyeliners I have tried dispense too much product at once and makes a huge mess. For someone like me who doesn't have a steady hand, I love that the product dispenses evenly and also the fine tip!

Mascara: Too Faced - Better Than Sex
So many people rave about this mascara, and if you try it you'll know why. Perfect eyelashes every single time. The formula is awesome, and I've never had any smearing!

Blush and Tools: Mac - Raizin, ELF blush brush Beauty Blender
I love this blush. It's a perfect pink for my skin tone and I always get compliments when I wear it! I use the ELF angled blush brush to apply it and a Beauty Blender to blend it in (I also use the Beauty Blender for my foundation)!

Lips: Clinique - Black Honey
I cannot express my love for this lipstick enough. I have multiple tubes of it all over my house, in the car, and in my various purses so I'm never without it. This lipstick goes on like a balm and is not sticky at all. The shade is also flattering on everyone (yep you read that right) no matter your skin tone. Best part - it's under $25!

Setting Spray: Urban Decay - De Slick
I received this is a sample from Sephora and I liked that it seemed to keep my makeup in place. I haven't tried any other brands (aside from the Evian facial spray) so if you have a personal favourite, let me know and I'll test it out!

There you have it - everything in my makeup bag! I'd love to know your favourite beauty products and recommendations!
