Ways to Practice Self Care

I had another post scheduled for today, but after everything that happened this weekend in Charlottesville it didn't feel right to post it. We are certainly living in uncertain and stressful times and the need for self-care is at an all time high. Social media is a great way to stay informed, but constant negative messages and images can take a serious toll on our mental health, and it's so important to take care of that. Self-care can look like many different things, so it's important to find what works best for you and stick to it. I put together a few ideas if you're feeling overwhelmed.


1. Step away from your devices
2. Take a walk outside 
3. Take a bath
4. Open your windows 
5. Listen to your favourite music 
6. Take your medication
7. Sleep
8. Declutter your living space
9. Enjoy some tea
10. Read a new book
11. Indulge in your favourite treat
12. Watch your favourite movie (Breakfast At Tiffany's is mine!) 
13. Light a candle
14. Drink more water 
15. Exercise 
16. Avoid triggers
17. Buy yourself some flowers
18. Do a face mask
19. Cry if you need to 
20. Take a short trip 
21. Do a good deed for someone else
22. Catch up with an old friend
23. Write out whatever is on your mind
24. See a therapist
25. Be kind to yourself
