Blue Whale Exhibit at the ROM

Monday, May 29, 2017

Yesterday I checked an item off of my summer bucket list! The ROM currently has an exhibit about blue whales - including a real life (plastinated) heart. I tweeted my excitement a few weeks ago, and I didn't think I would get to see the exhibit for a while. Luckily, the stars aligned for me and I had the chance to (briefly) see the exhibit this weekend!

I'll definitely be going back and spending a bit more time taking in all of the information - but for now, I'm so happy that I saw the heart! It was a bit dark inside of the exhibit, but I managed to get a few snaps inside.

The heart was my favourite part of the exhibit. It took three years for the entire preservation process from start to finish. This preservation is one of a kind and will last for 1000 years! There was a Smart car placed beside the heart for a size reference.

If you find yourself in Toronto before September 4th, I highly recommend checking out the Blue Whale exhibit and the ROM in general!
