Say No to Pickle Juice

Monday, October 20, 2014

Okay...I have a small confession. I love YouTube. It has almost replaced television for me! I was doing some casual browsing when I came across this Tyler Oakley video:

Now this post may seem rambly, but this video really spoke to me!
I hate that I'm learning life lessons from Nicki Minaj but she has a point. As I get older I find that so many people around me are settling (myself included). Settling for mediocre things in order to just get by. I find that we also accept mediocrity from others, even though it isn't the best thing to do. I definitely need to stop drinking the pickle juice and start doing more and expecting more for myself! Sometimes it's hard because we become tired or lazy, but at the end of the day - if we don't stop drinking pickle juice then we can't complain when things in our life aren't where we want them to be.

But when we say no to pickle juice and demand more for ourselves, then naturally we will seek out those who also want more and things can get better. I definitely agree that it's important to say no to being average and surround yourself with like minded people! They are the ones who will challenge you and ensure that you strive for more. I'm sure we can all think of a person (or two) who is our pickle juice partner (I made that up) and it's time to move on.

Bottom line - pickle juice is gross and we should always be striving for something better (champagne perhaps..?) Life is far too short to let mediocrity be our legacy when we have the potential and opportunity to be doing amazing things. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here!

Put down the pickle juice.
