No Spend October

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

I've noticed that throughout September, I became completely dependent on takeout when it comes to meals. I've also fallen victim to those sneaky flash sale e-mails that always seem to be invading my inbox. This is definitely because it is the more convenient (albeit more expensive and less healthy) option. So for this month I have decided to give the old debit and credit card a rest and take on a no spend month. I have food in my fridge and the knowledge plus ability to cook it - so spending money on food is actually quite ridiculous.

I am certain that there will be challenges keeping up with this because I am a relatively busy person - however I am also hoping that I will learn better time management skills and become more of a minimalist. Learning that it's okay not having a huge fancy dinner or lunch every night and that the convenient option isn't always the best option are important things to realize and I'm sure I'll see that clearly.

So for this month of October flash sales, no takeout, no spending! Ah! Wish me luck!
